Detailed Review
First Impressions
When Hero Group’s Qubo sent over their new 3-channel dashcam, I was genuinely curious. We’ve reviewed plenty of Chinese dashcams, but an Indian brand attempting a triple-camera setup? That’s ambitious. The box arrived well-packed with the main unit, rear camera, cabin camera, a surprisingly long set of cables, hardwiring kit, and mounting accessories. Build quality feels solid — not flimsy like some budget options I’ve tested.
How I Tested This
I installed this in my Hyundai Creta and drove it for three weeks across Bangalore’s chaotic traffic, a weekend trip to Mysore, and plenty of night driving through poorly lit areas near Electronic City. The real test was our notorious potholes and speed breakers — I wanted to see if the footage stayed stable and if the unit would survive the vibrations. I also deliberately parked in direct sunlight during peak May afternoons to check heat resistance.
Performance
The 2K front camera is genuinely impressive. Number plates are readable from a decent distance, even at 60-70 kmph. The rear camera does its job well for a 1080p sensor — good enough to capture that auto-rickshaw cutting you off. The cabin camera with IR night vision is the real star for Ola/Uber drivers or families who want interior recording. Night footage surprised me; the IR LEDs kick in automatically and faces are clearly visible inside.
GPS tracking works accurately, and I could see my exact route and speed on the Qubo app. Speaking of the app — it’s functional but clunky. Connecting via Wi-Fi takes 15-20 seconds each time, and downloading footage to your phone is painfully slow. Hero Group needs to fix this urgently.
Installation Reality
Let me be honest — unless you’re comfortable with car wiring, pay a professional ₹500-800 for installation. Running three cameras with cables through your headliner and rear windshield is not a weekend DIY project. The hardwiring kit for parking mode is excellent though, and parking surveillance actually caught a delivery bike brushing against my car.
Value for Money
At around ₹13-14K, you’re getting what would cost ₹20K+ from Viofo or BlackVue. The 1TB SD card support is generous, and having an Indian brand means easier warranty claims. Amazon reviews mention some units having Wi-Fi connectivity issues, so make sure you test immediately after purchase.
