Detailed Review
First Impressions
A coffee maker, OTG, and frying pan all in one compact unit for under ₹3,000? My wife laughed and said it would end up in our storage loft within a month. The build quality is exactly what you’d expect at this price – lots of plastic, lightweight construction, and that distinct ‘budget appliance’ feel. The black finish looks decent enough for a bachelor pad or a small PG room, but don’t expect it to impress anyone in a modular kitchen setup.
How I Tested This
I used this every morning for three weeks straight. Made toast with butter and jam, grilled some cheese sandwiches, fried eggs and omelettes on the pan, and brewed filter coffee daily. I also tried making frozen aloo tikkis on the grill section and reheating leftover parathas. Tested it during our Bangalore summer when the kitchen already feels like an oven, so I could gauge how much extra heat this thing throws around.
Performance
Let’s start with what works – the coffee maker actually does a decent job. It brews about 3-4 cups of passable filter coffee, nothing fancy but gets the job done for your morning caffeine fix. The toaster section heats up reasonably well and can handle bread slices and basic grilling. Timer and temperature controls are basic but functional.
Now the problems. The frying pan is tiny – I’m talking one egg at a time tiny. Forget making an omelette for two people simultaneously. The heat distribution is uneven, so you’ll notice hotspots. My dosas came out patchy, and I gave up on that experiment quickly. The OTG section struggles with anything requiring consistent high heat. My frozen tikkis were burnt on top and cold inside on the first try.
Build & Practicality
The wattage is limited, so everything takes longer than dedicated appliances. Running all three functions together is not recommended – I tripped my kitchen MCB once when I tried that with my mixer running. Cleaning is another headache because of the cramped design and non-removable parts.
Value for Money
For hostel students or someone in a tiny rented room with no kitchen access, this makes some sense. You get three functions in minimal counter space. But for a proper household? You’re better off buying a ₹1,500 sandwich maker and a separate coffee maker. The convenience factor doesn’t outweigh the compromises.
