Detailed Review
First Impressions
When the Green Soul Cloud R1 arrived at my apartment, I was genuinely surprised by the packaging quality. The box was massive, and assembly took me about 45 minutes with just an Allen key. The grey suede fabric looked premium in photos, and thankfully it holds up decently in person too. That said, my first thought was that the armrests felt slightly hollow compared to recliners I have tested at furniture showrooms.
How I Tested This
I used this recliner daily for three weeks in my living room. My typical routine included watching IPL matches for 3-4 hours at a stretch, working from home with my laptop, and the occasional afternoon nap. I also let my father, who has mild lower back issues, use it for a week to get his feedback. Temperature-wise, Pune hit 38°C during testing, so I could properly evaluate how the fabric breathes.
Performance
The recline mechanism is smooth enough, though you need to push back with some force initially. Once reclined, the oversized leg rest is genuinely comfortable. My 5’10” frame fits well, and the lumbar cushioning does provide decent support during long sitting sessions. My father appreciated the back support but mentioned the cushioning could be firmer for older users.
The suede fabric is soft to touch, almost like touching a stuffed toy. However, it attracts dust and pet hair like a magnet. I have a cat, and within days, I needed to lint-roll the entire chair. In the May heat, the fabric did get slightly warm after prolonged sitting, but nothing unbearable with a fan running.
Value for Money
At this price point, you are getting solid comfort for movie nights and casual lounging. Amazon reviews mention similar experiences, with most praising the comfort but flagging concerns about the manual lever feeling flimsy after months of use. Flipkart buyers have noted delivery dents on some units, so inspect yours carefully.
The build quality is acceptable for the budget segment, but I would not expect this to last beyond 3-4 years with heavy daily use. The wooden frame feels sturdy, but the reclining mechanism has that slightly plasticky feedback that makes you wonder about longevity.
